Minegishi Minami is selected as a member of AKB48 when she passed the 1st audition of AKB48. Together with other 20 girls, she was the founder of AKB48. For 7 years and a half, Minegishi is one of the popular members in the group. She is well-known among AKB48 fandom because of her friendliness and her character in AKB48 show. Although she is a talkative girl, no member of AKB48 hate her. Sometimes, she is called as Variety Queen of AKB48.
After Maeda Atsuko's graduation in 2012, the 2nd chapter of AKB48 begins. Minegishi was tranferred from team K to Team B, with hope that she could teach her juniors more. But a scandal of love made her demote from a regular member to a research student. Minegishi decided to shave her hair as a sign to show that she want to restart as a research student (kenkyuusei) of AKB48. However, her decision led to many articles from Western media.
From 1st February, Minegishi's still an AKB48 member although she's just a kenkyuusei. As her fan, I hoped she could back to 3 teams soon. I knew that there would be a lot of words outside and they might not accept that Minegishi could back to team while other girls could be fired. But people couldn't deny many difficulties she had faced. She was in AKB48 since the 1st day. And, she's still there and tried her best to make fans believe in her once more. So, people just need to give her a chance. No one can say they never make mistakes, and more than that, there aren't much people can stand again and correct them.
In AKB48 in Tokyo Dome concert Day 3, they annouced that Miichan was promoted into new Team 4 with 15 KKS. I screamed, smiled and cried because of this news. I knew that Miichan wasn't in Team RS for a long time. But if you watched about it, you could see that Miichan grew up a lot. She became more mature and she could teach her junior more. I don't know why some people hate the idea of recreate Team 4. With Miichan and other 15 little girls, they brought fans in the theater back to the beginning era of AKB48, which you can fall in love with the group and member by watching them in their theater. This Team 4 made people believe in the brighter side of young members in AKB48, which might not good but passionate and well-learning.
The second "Big Shuffle" came to AKB48 in early of 2014. Miichan was still chosen as the captain of new Team 4. However, some of her babies from the "old" Minegishi Team 4 had to go away. One of them chose to remain with Miichan and new Team 4. I don't know why that girl did that but I knew Miichan helped her as a senior who she could trust.
Many people say that Miichan is spending a lot of time in AKB48 and what she can do if she graduate from this group. I remember that my girl said she only chose graduation if her little girls (the "old" of Minegishi Team 4 ver 1.0) could be ranked in AKB48 Election. As a long-time fan, I'm not happy to hear about her graduation or something like that but I understand her for now. She can graduate and I will support her, wherever she goes and whatever she does.
